Wrestlers With The Most Social Media Followers: The Top 5
Jul 22, 2022 By Harry Evans

Even though WWE Superstars only appear on Raw or SmackDown once a week, the vast majority choose to share their daily escapades on social media instead. For example, John Cena recently shared some encouraging words with the WWE Universe, and it appears that the wrestler is not averse to exposing more of his personal life to his devoted followers. Who, though, has the most fans? Here are the five WWE Superstars with the most Instagram and Twitter followers.

The Rock – 313.84 Million Followers

Fans throughout the world are as devoted to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as they are to any other celebrity. Despite having over 15 million Twitter followers, the world's most prominent movie actor has an Instagram following of 298 million, placing him as the platform's fifth most popular account.

In the WWE, The Rock had a remarkable career, winning titles and gaining a devoted following with his on-stage antics and charismatic performance in the ring. Johnson used this to launch a successful acting career in Hollywood, where he rose to the position of the highest-paid actor in the world thanks to appearances in the popular Fast and Furious series.

Since WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had to put the XFL on hold due to the COVID outbreak in 2020, Dwayne Johnson, the creator of Seven Bucks Productions, has taken a stake in the league.

It's doubtful that many of The Rock's fans are aware that in 1997, he defeated Flash Funk in Shotgun Saturday Night, but one thing is sure: if all of The Rock's fans lived together in one nation, it would be the planet's fourth most populous.

John Cena – 30.78 million

The Rock's former opponent, John Cena, comes in second, although he has a fraction of The Rock's social media following. With 16 global championships under his belt, five US titles, four reigns as a WWE Tag Team Champion, two Royal Rumble triumphs, and five WrestleMania main events to his credit.

The former Doctor of Thuganomics has followed in the footsteps of Dwayne Johnson and made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. When it comes to movie roles, John Cena has a long list that includes Trainwreck and The Suicide Squad, as well as roles in the WWE-produced action thriller The Marine.

After playing Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad, Cena was allowed to star in a new HBO Max series based on the character. It is expected that John Cena will appear in the subsequent two Fast and Furious films, which will be released in 2023 and 2024, following his time in F9.

Social media gives fans of WWE Superstar John Cena a chance to see two sides of him. Cena's motivational tweets have been collected into two books, which he has made available to his Twitter followers.

Ronda Rousey – 18.1 Million

'Rowdy' Before she chose to take over the WWE Universe in January 2018, Ronda Rousey was a legitimate sports superstar. When she was younger, Rousey was an accomplished judoka representing the United States of America at the Olympic Games in 2004 and 2008. She began her MMA career in 2010 after winning an Olympic gold medal in the women's flyweight division. Throughout three amateur battles, Rousey used her famous armbar to kill off each of her opponents.

The professional ranks soon beckoned, and Rousey resumed her dominant ways, winning all six of her first professional fights via armbar and all in the first round. As soon as the UFC called, Rousey cashed in her Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Title to be crowned the first ever UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion.

Only Miesha Tate could take her beyond the first round in her first six UFC fights, making her colossal ticket money draw for the promotion. When Rousey lost her first bout and her UFC title in November 2015, it was the beginning of the end for her. Rousey made her WWE debut in 2018 at the Royal Rumble, when she and Kurt Angle beat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a tag team match before making her debut at WrestleMania 34.

Triple H – 13.86 million

A combined Twitter and Instagram following of 13.86 million people proves that when Triple H talks, his words are taken seriously, as confirmed by The Game's Twitter and Instagram accounts. I said Triple H is a WWE and pro wrestling icon. The King Of Kings, WWE's 14-time world champion and seven-time WrestleMania primary event winner, is recognized for his antics off the stage as his prowess in the ring.

As Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development, Paul Levesque has taken on a business position with WWE with both hands. The NXT brand that Triple H established is what has made him a star among fans, not his numerous championships.

Under The Game's supervision in 2012, Triple H developed NXT into a viable third brand in an entirely different way. The number of WWE Superstars that didn't make their way up the ranks through NXT has dwindled in recent years.

Nikki Bella – 13.79 million

Despite having a dual Twitter account with her sister Brie, Nikki Bella finds herself at an unexpectedly low position at number five. However, Nikki's Instagram following of 10.2 million people ensures her spot at the top of this list. When Nikki Bella made her WWE debut in 2008, she became a household name. For the Divas era, the Bella Twins were a fantastic match as Nikki Bella showed off her excellent in-ring talents as she won the Divas Championship twice in her WWE Hall of Fame career.

Early on, the Bellas were an integral element of Total Divas' early popularity, leading to the creation of their spin-off program, Total Bellas. Nikki Bella was also a contestant on Dancing With The Stars season 25 when she met Artem Chigvintsev, the man she is currently engaged to.
